Provide a safer environment
Due to code in most areas, Pressure treated and non-treaded wood products are not allowed in commercial projects. Pressure treated is not allowed due to toxic emissions. Non-treated wood is, pardon the pun, added fuel to the fire. Metal strapping has a low pull-out value for screws and could allow your accessories to detach there by failing. Nominal wood products such as 2x4, 2x6, etc. Once cut, they are no longer fire-rated, as the treatment does not penetrate into the fibers deep enough. Econoblock meets ASTM code requirements for fire retardation, and has better screw retention for accessory attachment.
